Open Question: Should I file taxes as married or separated?

Hello and thanks for whatever help/tips you can provide me with. We live in Texas and we are in the process of effort a divorce, but we are not wrongfully distributed either. My spouse gave her W2 and the prototypal thing I detected is that her consort exclusive withheld most 1% of her total income for 2009, instead of the 10% that she was withheld in the past. I undergo that she would owe taxes to Uncle Sam. We have a mortgage, students loans (mine) and whatever assets loses and fortunately, no scrutiny expenses. I am wondering what the pros and cons of filing unitedly will be. She has not been that pleasant to me since she decided to enter for split and I am rattling trying to impact this out, but she refuses to talk. Please feel liberated to communicate for added details. I proven to allow the most germane parts of my issue. Thanks again
